2. List all the reasons you want to stop smoking. Keep this list handy to review especially before you go to bed at night.
3. Think about all the time you waste smoking, looking for matches, standing outside buildings to smoke and decide your time is more valuable than smoking is.
4. Wash your clothes. Yes, the smell of smoke lingers on clothes a long time so cleaning them will be very helpful to you. You don't want to smell like a smoker.
5. Set a date to quit. If you smoke a lot at work then set your quitting date when you are off. You want to have a few days of not smoking under your belt if you have to go into a smoking environment. Ideally it is best to stay away from places that you tend to light up in for awhile until you feel confident enough to be able to overcome the urge to smoke because you usually do it while you are there.
